    Hey,

What up all? It’s been awhile.  Just workin here.  Gotta pay the bills and keep a little money in my pocket if you know what I mean?

So, I saw Quietdrive along w/ The Higher and Take Cover a few times. All three bands were quite good and I’d recommend checking them out.

I went to my first ever roller derby bout last evening. It was the Mississippi Valley Mayhem league in a “scrimmage” type of bout, where they broke into two teams and battled against each other. I have a few friends on the team, and it was great to see them doing their thing!  Can’t wait to go to another.

Anyway, just workin… Hope all is well in the Music Equals Life world!

    Keep rockin,

So, It’s nearly the middle of November. How does time pass so quickly? It seems like just yesterday I was struggling through the fall semester (my 2nd to last) at Western, and now I’m graduated and struggling through the fall to find a job in my field. It’s pretty crazy. I’m a bit disappointed that I’m not going to be able to attend the David Cook concert in Milwaukee tonight. With this new job, it’s 100% attendance required until the middle of December, and we’re working 2-10, monday – friday.

Well, I can’t say it’s been all bad for the past few weeks though. I will be attending Quietdrive this weekend at The New Loft in Madison, and after the weekend, should have a new interview for your pleasure.  I’ll let you know more about it soon.

Also, the genius of Butch Walker made my weekend.  Late last week, there was a video that appeared of Butch Walker from one of his Hotel Cafe residency shows.  It was of him and another guy playing his song “Uncomfortably Numb.”  But during the middle of it, they went into Taylor Swift’s song “You Belong With Me.”  It was pretty amazing.  You can see it here:

After the appearance of that, there was such a huge response that Butch decided to take his work and do a studio version.  While doing so, he also recorded a “MAKING OF” video that is absolutely hilarious.  So, here is that video (w/ the song playing at the end – and make sure to watch the screen for comments from Butch during the song)

Hope you enjoyed this little nugget of amazingness.  Keep rockin’ y’all.

So, it’s the end of October 2009…  I started a new old job yesterday.  For 2 years, I worked at local inbound telemarketing a few years ago. I didn’t necessarily like it, but I enjoyed a few of the people I worked with immensely. Well, after 5 months of failing to find a job in programming or graphic design, I decided that it was time to just find a job… period.  So back to my old job I went.  It’s taking inbound customer service calls for a certain mobile phone company.  We’ll see how it goes as the training progresses.  Yesterday was basically just a lot of paperwork and entrance information. Boring really.

Other than that, I don’t know a whole lot.  I hope all of you out there are doing quite well!

    Stay classy San Diego,

La Crosse Oktoberfest is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.  Now, I’ve lived in the La Crosse area my whole life, and the festival is truly an every year event, that tends to run together with all other events of the year.  But it truly is an unbelievable event. The local business association says that the revenue inserted into the area over the 9 days that it runs is over 3 million dollars.  I know it doesn’t seem like much, but it’s 3,000,000.  That’s a lot.  As for people, La Crosse itself is just over 50,000 people.  Over the 9 days, there will be 75,000 visitors to the area.

It’s a great way to see old friends, meet some new ones!  I saw some friends that I haven’t seen since high school.  Others where’s it’s been a bit shorter time, but still in a multi-year range. So, it was a really great time.

If you ever get the chance to make it to La Crosse during the late September / early October festival, it’s definitely worth it!

Well, for the 2nd weekend in a row, I had a pretty crazy one. And I have a feeling that it’s going to continue over the next few.

I started out traveling to Madison, WI to attend Stacie and Aron’s wedding. It was a great event. It was amazing to see a bunch of people that I don’t get to see very often.  Everyone looked amazing.  There was no drama, just fun!  I have an absolutely amazing group of friends and it is so great to know that even though we don’t see each other for months or more at a time, we still are just incredibly comfortable around each other.

On Saturday, I got up early and turned and headed back to La Crosse.  Later that evening I met up with Katrina and Kabau to head to Xai’s going away party where we also saw Jamie and Jamie, Dan and Macy..  Had a great time, though a bit too much alcohol.  I did a couple of songs for Karaoke, including Baby Got Back and Summer Lovin (from the Grease movie) with Macy.  She did the male parts of Summer Lovin, I did the female. It had to have been HORRIBLE, though everyone I’ve talked to claims that it was magnificent. After Karaoke, we headed to Bodega and hung out there for a bit, but decided that we’d had too much fun, so Katrina got her sister to come pick us up.  So, it was nice not to have to worry about driving home.

Sunday, I got up early headed over to the Shippy’s for the Applefest parade!  Man, it’s always good fun over there!  Had a few drinks and a few Brandy Slushes. Wow, it was good!  We even had visits by Katrina who brought w/ the two kids that she babysits for, and her sister.  My aunts and uncles Janet, Debbie and Dean. I continued with my streak of “heckling / hitting on” the beauty queens that went by. haha It’s always fun.

Well, it’s a half hour from being Wednesday, and I think I’m nearing being recovered.  But I think I’m going to head to bed soon.

    Will check y’all laters!
